AVAC emerged convincing winners in the second match of the National Young Athletes League, beating the second placed team by over 130 points to remain top of the league table. A clean sweep was achieved by the improving U13 girls team, with all athletes winning their respective events so taking maximum points for the Club. The U13 Boys also dominated their events with Ben Hawkins, Michael Feeney and Gareth Griffin all achieving PB’s on the way to victory.

AVAC had their most successful Championships to date. Forty athletes competed across U13, U15 and U17 age groups, with a total of 17 golds, 15 silver and 20 bronze medals won in the individual events.

Well done to Abby Wood for her U15G shot and discus gold double in her first Championships. Also congratulations to Tamara Armoush for U13G 1500m gold and just missing out on a Championship record performance by 1 second! The Feeney siblings achieved a trio of hurdles golds with David at U17M 100MH, Louise U15G 75MH and Michael U13B 75MH.
